Michael Kelty, Ph.D

Executive Vice President

Mike was named executive vice president in October 2008, when he rejoined the Company after a brief retirement. In this position, Mike serves the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in the leadership of key corporate initiatives.

From May 2001 until his retirement in November 2005, Mike was vice chairman and executive vice president.

He joined ScottsMiracle-Gro in 1979 as manager of regulatory and government affairs. Other leadership positions have included vice president, Research & Development; senior vice president, Technology and Operations; senior vice president, Professional Business Group; and executive vice president, Technology and Operations.

Mike received his bachelor of science degree in Biology / Chemistry from John Carroll University and completed his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at The Ohio State University. Prior to joining ScottsMiracle-Gro, he was an assistant professor of Biology at Cleveland State University.
